CPD Hours Level
Seminar 6 UpdateInformation

Attention all professionals and staff involved with VAT and invoicing within the construction sector.

Compliance failures may lead to crippling HMRC settlements and penalties. This new course will cover the day to day operation of the CIS scheme from start to finish.

It will also take a look at current HMRC target compliance areas within CIS and what you need to do to address them.

The Government announced at Autumn Budget 2017 its plans to introduce the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge. This was in response to what they perceived to be, widespread VAT fraud within the construction sector. The changes come into effect from 1 October 2020 and a significant amount of preparation is required in advance of that date. The impact will be far reaching.

Changes to the Agency legislation in 2014 straight through to the proposed changes for private sector workers due to be implemented from April 2020 will also be explored.

If you are a member of staff in the accountancy profession, in-house finance teams, construction contractors, subcontractors or indeed anyone responsible for invoicing and completing VAT returns within the construction industry then this course is for you.

A knowledge of current VAT rules is required.
