Introduction

The US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (‘FATCA’) seeks to identify US persons that may hold direct accounts or through entities with foreign financial institutions. FATCA sits alongside the US’s qualified intermediary regime to regulate the US’s international withholding and treaty provisions. The US tax status of those with direct and indirect interests in the 'entities' that you advise need to be identified.

Automatic Exchange of Information (‘AEOI’) has a direct impact on customers of financial institutions and requires front-line client facing teams to be fully trained in managing relationships in a Common Reporting Standard (‘CRS’) compliant manner. Inaccurate reporting will seriously affect your reputation with customers and the regulators.

Join Ali Kazimi of Hansuke Consulting who has worked on FATCA and CRS implementation projects at leading financial institutions across the globe as he shares all you need to know about FATCA and CRS compliance.
