SDT Proceedings - Demystifying the Process
No solicitor sets out to be accused of professional misconduct. But everyone makes mistakes and solicitors are more at risk than most of having those mistakes reported to a regulator to result in disciplinary proceedings. Facing your professional tribunal can be a daunting and extremely stressful experience.
This live broadcast session aims to explain and demystify the process of appearing before the SDT and increase understanding of the SDT’s procedure. Not only will this session be of use to those facing or acting as a witness in SDT proceedings, it will help inform understanding of how the SDT reaches decisions and what lessons can be learned from SDT judgments.
In a world where we are increasingly expected to exercise professional judgment rather than adopt a prescriptive approach to compliance, it is more important than ever to understand how misconduct is examined by the SDT.
