Introduction

The construction and engineering industry contributes around 8% GDP and is therefore an important part of the economy, generating jobs, supply chains and legacy along the way.

In recent times, the wider economy has driven cost increases in projects due to inflation, fluctuations, currency, provisional sums costs and supply of materials and labour, which have all proven very challenging for all players from top to bottom.

This virtual classroom seminar will explore the key problems facing industry in setting up projects and attempting to recession-proof them.

It will explore the standard forms of JCT and NEC contracts and compare key provisions, and well as consider where drafting amendments could be used by contract parties. Finally, we will set some summary points for delegates to take away.
