Introduction

The Code for Leasing Business Premises was relaunched in September 2020 as a RICS Professional Statement. That gives it teeth that it did not previously have, making it more relevant than ever before to examine how well the current Code addresses contemporary market priorities.

This webinar will consider how the Code fits in with the applicable legal framework and the letting process, while addressing what it has to say about key issues in today’s letting market, such as suspension of rent clauses, break options, and controls over alterations, alienation and change of use.

We will also consider what it might usefully have addressed but does not.
