Introduction

This webinar will consider recent developments including whether or not the recent Supreme Court decision in Sequent v Hautford altered the rules on reasonableness on a landlord’s ability to refuse consent or impose conditions.

It will also offer tips for avoiding and resolving some of the knottier problems that arise, whether acting for landlord or tenant, in handling applications for landlord’s consent to assign, alterations and change of use.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • ‘Consent not to be unreasonably withheld’ - do the IDF principles still apply?
  • Alterations, change of use - when is reasonableness implied?
  • Damage to the landlord’s reversionary interest - revisited in Sequent v Hautford
  • Separating good reasons from bad: Lessons from the Court of Appeal in No 1 West India Quay

This pre-recorded webinar will be streamed at 12:30pm on Thursday 9th April 2020 and will remain available to view by delegates who have registered by then for 90 days.
