International Data Transfers - Post Schrems II & Brexit
In 2020 the transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA) to other jurisdictions were affected by a combination of the CJEU decision known as Schrems II, the declaration on the invalidity of the EU-US Privacy Shield, the guidance from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and data transfers and the 6 month permit for transfers from EEA to UK post Brexit.
This webinar will review the current position on international data transfers from the EEA, the UK and other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws and offer thoughts on what practical steps companies can take to comply with the changing legal and compliance requirements.
