Introduction

The protection of intellectual property, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights, is increasingly important in the context of film and television production, particularly as content is increasingly based upon ‘real life’ people, stories, and issues.

Particularly as the UK film and television industry restarts following the COVID-19-induced shut down, and with government support, identifying, promoting, and enforcing - or dealing with - intellectual property issues at the appropriate time is crucial to all those working in, or with, the creative industries.

This new webinar will look at key intellectual property concepts and themes that are relevant to those working in the film and television industries, and will cover some of the recent and emerging trends, and key issues, over recent months and years, including how content creators can protect and enforce their IP rights in their content; what industry participants need to watch out for in terms of potentially infringing others' rights; and how the courts approach some of the disputes and issues that arise.

It is suitable for private practice and in-house lawyers, particularly those acting for, or within, film and television production, and other media and entertainment companies.
