Introduction

At the end of March, The Law Society announced on-site CQS assessments would be commencing from 1st May 2022 and CQS accredited firms should be ‘assessment ready’ by this date.

New 2022 core practice management standards were also published by The Law Society, and CQS accredited firms are expected to be following these in practice, and be able to demonstrate compliance with these new standards from 1st May.

It is therefore imperative that CQS practices take the time to review their documented policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with the new core practice management standard as they will be required to provide key policies to The Law Society within two weeks of their notification of being selected for assessment.

The assessment will be both technical and qualitative and will require CQS accredited firms to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the CQS scheme throughout the practice, including the ability to evidence the Core Practice Management Standards and the Conveyancing Protocol through their conduct of conveyancing files so it is important to get this right.

This live broadcast session is specifically designed for firms who are both CQS accredited and those firms who are currently working towards attaining accreditation.

It is aimed at Heads of Conveyancing, SROs and those charged with preparing the conveyancing department for assessment and will equip you with the in depth practical and technical expertise needed to successfully and swiftly implement policies and procedures to enable you to survive the assessment.

The presenter, Tracy Thompson, who is appointed CQS Lead Assessor, will provide guidance to interpret the requirements of the standard whilst gaining practical experience of how to develop and implement those requirements.
