SRA Competency D

This new workshop is aimed at CPS and police force employees representing and working with victims of crime who have been traumatised and as such are exposed to the impact of trauma on a regular basis.

The work often involves being witness to traumatic material and there is growing evidence to support the existence of vicarious trauma/ secondary traumatic stress within frontline professions which may have a significant impact on working capacity and is a contributing factor to work related stress, staff absences and high turnover of staff.

This workshop aims to raise awareness regarding vicarious trauma/secondary traumatic stress and its impact on employees working with traumatic material and/or traumatised individuals. It will offer ways of identifying employees impacted by this, how to support those affected and offer preventative strategies to manage this in the workplace.
