The impact of COVID-19 is being felt across society and law firms must consider the impact of the virus, restrictions, and the consequent financial and emotional shock experienced by clients and potential clients.

This virtual classroom seminar is designed to explore these issues from a client care perspective.

Consideration will be given to the latest guidance from the FCA and other financial authorities about the impact on clients and the financial signposting available. This session will also cover issues of potential vulnerability that may arise from health issues, and COVID-19 restrictions, as well as ideas for how to take account of client situations in your procedures.

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • The latest guidance on client vulnerability connected to COVID-19 from regulators and authorities in financial services, including:
    • Income shock
    • Debt
    • Homelessness
  • Other potential issues of client vulnerability related to COVID-19 such as health issues, or the loss of support systems
  • SRA client care requirements and good practice relating to client vulnerability
  • Widening participation in and access to legal services by developing your client care procedures to take account of vulnerability linked to COVID-19
