British Nationals (Overseas) in Hong Kong - Navigating the New Visa Route
An enormous change is coming for residents in Hong Kong having British National Overseas (‘BN(O)’) citizenship.
Currently such persons face the same onerous visa requirements as all other non-EU nationals--with the one exception that they may be granted a six-month tourist visa upon arrival at the UK.
However, starting in January 2021, a new ‘bespoke’ route will be available to BN(O) citizens and their family members.
In the words of Priti Patel, ‘this new immigration route will afford BN(O) citizens the right to live and work and study in the UK and gives them a path to full British citizenship.’
Most immigration practices are already fielding a high volume of queries around this route. This webinar is aimed at preparing solicitors and caseworkers to advise and to conduct cases, providing the best possible chance of success.
