SRA Competency B

From the 25 May 2018 the way data is held and processed has changed due to the implementation of GDPR. There are also changes contained in the revised Data Protection Act 2018 and its associated provisions.

The revised GDPR provisions will affect Attorneys, Deputies, executors and trustees. The question is: To what extent are they caught by the new provisions? Specific advice needs to be provided to clients who manage information on behalf of others.

This course aims to examine the nature of how Attorneys, Deputies, executors and trustees may be caught by the new GDPR provisions. The course will also examine how to be a data protection officer, including identifying the different data types. The course further explores how professionals, such as solicitors or accountants should act as attorneys, deputies, executors or trustees.
