This live broadcast session is aimed at forensic accountants planning on taking their first steps into the courtroom.

What You Will Learn

This interactive broadcast will cover the following:

  • The Criminal Procedure Rules - what must you include in your report?

All reports prepared for criminal proceedings must be compliant with the procedural rules. Whilst instructed on behalf of a party, an expert’s primary duty is to the court and an understanding of the rules is essential, even before entering the courtroom.

  • Criminal Law - the law in relation to fraud and other associated offences.

What are the various offences under the Fraud Act 2006 and find out what the Supreme Court and Divisional Court have had to say recently on the often essential element of ‘dishonesty’.

  • Giving evidence - what do you need to know and what to expect?

Preparation is key but preparing and submitting a report is only half the battle, when giving evidence is still to come. Special rules apply to experts when giving evidence over and above the standard witness. Find out what these rules are and how they will assist you when giving evidence.
