Taxation of DeFi Protocols & NFTs - An Advanced Guide for Tax & Private Client Professionals
Introduction
In the February 2022 update of their Cryptoassets Manual, HM Revenue & Customs examined borrowing and lending of cryptoassets, in particular with the use of Decentralised Finance (‘DeFi’) protocols.
This virtual classroom seminar will examine the operation of DeFi systems, with examples of some of the most important of them, and the methodology and application of HMRC in applying tax legislation to them.
It will also discuss the operation of non-fungible tokens (‘NFTs’) and the principles to be applied in their taxation.
What You Will Learn
This live and interactive session will cover the following:
- The technology underlying DeFi protocols
- The legal principles applicable to them and their operation
- The taxation of transactions using them
- The methodology of HMRC
- NFTs and the principles to be applied in their taxation
Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
