Introduction

In a plan led system local plan policies are key to determining planning applications.

This virtual classroom seminar will provide practical insights into policy formulation at a local level including drafting and promoting policies and how to effectively engage in the process. Guidance on interpreting policies will also be provided. It will also consider related topics including the role of supplementary planning documents.

Future developments will also be considered including the likely impact of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill and revisions to national policy. Examples from practice will be used to illustrate the topics covered.
