Introduction

Back in July 2021 the Bank of England, PRA and FCA issued a joint discussion paper, DP2/21, entitled Diversity and Inclusion in the Financial Sector - Working Together to Drive Change.

That paper mooted several policy ideas to improve diversity and inclusion in the financial sector and the support of the regulators in respect of the same.

Since then, further consultations, policy documents, and rules have been issued by the regulators including (i) the PRA’ s consultation paper CP18/23 - Diversity and inclusion in PRA-regulated firms and (ii) the FCA’s Consultation CP23/20 - Diversity and inclusion in the financial sector - working together to drive change which closed on 18 December 2023.

This short webinar discusses what the latest consultation papers on diversity and inclusion tell us: (i) about the direction of travel in this area for the regulators; (ii) policies which may arise from these consultation papers; and (iii) how the policies arising out of these consultation papers may impact on the interpretation of regulatory requirements.

The webinar will also include a short review of some of the black letter law and regulatory requirements as they stand at present in relation to diversity and inclusion.

This webinar is suitable for all FCA regulated firms including law firms and accountants.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • A quick refresher of black letter law and regulatory requirements in respect of diversity and inclusion for FCA regulated firms
  • An indication of the direction of travel of regulators in respect of diversity and inclusion considering their latest consultation papers
  • Some suggestions about policy outcomes in light of the regulators’ latest consultation papers, including some of the potential practical impacts for firms

This pre-recorded webinar will be streamed at 12:30pm on Friday 31st May 2024 and will remain available to view by delegates who have registered by then for 90 days.
