Neelam Sarkaria

Neelam was called to the Bar in 1988 and now works as an independent criminal justice consultant with specific expertise in gender-based violence. She is a fee-paid Tribunal Judge in the Social Entitlement Chamber and sits on professional conduct hearings for the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has developed and delivered training for lawyers, health education and social care professionals on harmful traditional practices. She has also trained law enforcement and prosecutors on gender-based violence in Namibia on behalf of UNODC and is an expert adviser to UN Women on prosecution and gender-based violence.
