Professional Deputies & Costs - Current Rules & Case Law
Acting as a professional deputy is sometimes necessary if your client has no family or relatives to assist.
There may also be situations where your client has suffered medical negligence or serious injury, which result in multi-million pound settlements which have to be managed by a professional.
The costs of acting as a deputy are recovered by using either the court's fixed costs regime or by claiming assessed costs from the Supreme Court Costs Office.
Whilst professional deputyships can be rewarding, often practitioners find their costs being slashed by the SCCO for many different reasons.
This live broadcast session is aimed at deputies and private client practitioners to help assist in the reduction of lost costs.
