This course examines how VAT applies to health and welfare issues and how businesses in these sectors account for the tax including GP and dental practices, pharmacists, opticians and welfare and care charities. This course will cover the liability of medical and therapeutic supplies, the liability of drugs and supplies of pharmaceuticals and other medical goods. Finally, it will explain how the tax is accounted for in partial exemption calculations, whether business/non-business apportionments applies and how capital expenditure is dealt with for VAT purposes.
