Introduction

The Global Talent visa has become one of the UK's most attractive immigration routes for leaders and emerging leaders across a wide range of professional fields. Offering flexibility, freedom from sponsorship and an accelerated route to settlement for many applicants, it is increasingly viewed as the preferred alternative to sponsored work routes where the eligibility criteria can be met.

While the Immigration Rules themselves are relatively concise, successful applications depend upon far more than simply satisfying the wording of Appendix Global Talent. Applicants must persuade an endorsing body that they have demonstrated exceptional talent or exceptional promise through carefully selected and well-presented evidence. In practice, many endorsement applications fail not because the applicant lacks the necessary achievements, but because the evidence has been poorly organised, insufficiently explained or directed towards the wrong endorsement criteria.

This virtual classroom seminar is designed for practitioners who wish to move beyond a basic understanding of the route and develop a practical appreciation of how successful applications are prepared. Drawing on practical experience across Arts Council England, Tech Nation, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society and other endorsing bodies, the session will explore how endorsement criteria are applied in practice, the evidential issues that frequently arise and the strategic considerations that can significantly improve prospects of success.
