The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in force since 2018, and we have now seen a series of enforcement cases in Ireland brought by the Data Protection Commissioner. Ireland is a key jurisdiction for GDPR because many global social media platforms have their European or EMEA headquarters there.
