Effective Planning Enforcement - The Key Principles
In order to maintain public confidence in the planning system, it is essential that decisive action is taken to remedy breaches of planning control. However, over-stepping the mark when it comes to enforcement action can prove equally damaging.
This half day course will consider the key principles that underpin a successful approach to planning enforcement, and which maintain that difficult balance. It will consider particular risk areas that undermine enforcement activity and offer practical guidance when it comes to report writing and decision making.
The course will also highlight the impact of recent court decisions and will also consider the related area of lawfulness.
Practical examples will be used to illustrate the issues that are addressed.
