Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar examines how legal and commercial professionals can build resilient supply chains in an era defined by unpredictable disruption - from pandemics and armed conflicts to tariffs and cyber attacks.

With AI and digital technologies simultaneously creating new vulnerabilities and offering transformative solutions, the session explores how to move beyond hackneyed boilerplate towards agile, data-driven contractual frameworks.

Through a blend of structured teaching and a practical workshop, participants will develop a toolkit for securing supply, navigating emerging regulation and integrating AI-specific provisions into their contracts - all road-tested against simulated disruption scenarios.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this live and interactive course, delegates will be able to:

  • Explain why supply chain disruption has usurped routes to market as the dominant commercial focus and how AI accelerates this shift
  • Identify how AI/digital technologies enhance non-contractual mitigation strategies (stockpiling, multi-sourcing, onshoring, insourcing, technology, insurance)
  • Reappraise hackneyed boilerplate and draft agile contractual mechanisms for AI-enabled supply chains
  • Recognise key regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, CSDDD, CBAM) and their extra-territorial implications for supply chain compliance
  • Integrate AI-specific provisions into the contractual toolkit: liability allocation, data sharing, IP ownership, algorithmic transparency
  • Conduct supplier audits enhanced by AI tools and deploy early warning mechanisms
  • Road-test supply chain strategies, contracts and IT systems through simulated disruption events
