Cohabitation Claims in Scotland - Unravelling the Complexities
Thirteen years have passed since the coming into force of the Family Law (Scotland) Act 2006 and with it the introduction of a statutory framework dealing with financial provision for cohabitants.
Despite the passage of time, the interpretation of the legislative provisions and the quantification of claims remains complex. Given the timescales and costs involved in pursuing claims under the framework, this is an area which can present concerns for family law practitioners.
This course will provide enhanced knowledge of the framework and a provide practical guidance to family lawyers for the handling of such cases.
