CASS Compliance in Practice - The Advanced Client Money & Custody Workshop
Introduction
This live and interactive advanced workshop is intended for practitioners who already have a working knowledge of the client money and custody rules and who are responsible for overseeing, challenging and assuring CASS compliance within their firm.
The session concentrates on the application of the CASS framework in more complex operating models, where segregation and reconciliation processes are carried out by finance or operations teams and oversight functions must assess control effectiveness, identify emerging risks and exercise informed regulatory judgement.
Using case studies, polling and facilitated discussion, the workshop examines common weaknesses observed in established CASS arrangements, including recurring reconciliation issues, reliance on third parties, gaps between documented frameworks and actual practice, and deficiencies in evidence and escalation.
By the end of the session, delegates will have a clearer understanding of what constitutes effective CASS oversight and will be able to identify practical actions to strengthen assurance, evidencing and regulatory readiness.
