Introduction
It is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage and around 1 in 250 births is a stillbirth in the UK. A woman who experiences a stillbirth can take Maternity Leave and is also entitled to Parental Bereavement Leave.
In 2027, bereavement leave is being added as a result of the Employment Rights Act 2025 and this will include time off for miscarriage.
This short webinar explains the leave that is available, what employers should think about, the support that should be provided for those affected, and what to include in a policy setting out support.
