Introduction

AIFMD introduced a pan-European regulatory system for the alternative investment industry in 2011. This is to be significantly revised with the advent of AIFMD II. This new legislation has already been approved and Member States must transpose it into domestic law by 16 April 2026.

Those working in the alternative funds industry need to be aware of the changes this new legislation will bring to ensure the AIFMs and AIFs they act for remain compliant. This session will explore the new requirements, highlight key elements, and provide practical guidance on both the extent of these obligations and the steps to be undertaken to ensure compliance.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • The scope of AIFMD II and the changes it will bring to the alternative funds market
    • Specific impacts for both AIFMs and AIFs as well as the potential implications for the market generally
  • New disclosure and transparency requirements
  • Loan funds
  • Liquidity management
  • Delegation by AIFMs
  • New substance requirements
  • Implications for platforms
  • Depositary passport
